Nutrition based on what works for you as an individual.
Everyone is different, and what works for one will not work for another. Finding the foods that nourish you and keep you healthy is a journey. This topic is huge and addresses healthy natural cooking, eating natural foods, whole food, diet theories, and ways to improve your health through changes in what you eat.
This topic actually was the original focus of this website, until it became apparent that we are nourished by more than just food. Nourishment always seems to come back to food. If we are not nourished in other areas of our life, we tend to abuse food by trying to get all our “nourishment” from what we put in our mouths. Notice how I did not use the word food…sometimes what passes for food in our society is questionable as food for nourishment or nutrition…we will get to that topic later.
Most folks know the drill. Eat more fruits and vegetables, drink more water, less stimulating drinks like soda and coffee, increase whole grains – not whole grain processed, but actual whole grains – play with cooking different ways, eat slower, eat less processed foods and more whole foods. Okay, so now we can all go home, because we know what to do…
If it were that easy, we would not have an obesity epidemic, a multimillion dollar weight loss industry and a health care crisis in this country. It is not easy, at least not on the surface. It is also not rocket science. You know what nourishes you. You know which foods make you feel nourished, and which foods don’t.
As a Holistic Health Coach, my job is to shine a light on your path to making choices that will change into habits of wellness and eventually habits for life.
We start with your choices and what you want to change in your diet. What works for you? We explore countless diet theories and options. If you need immediate change there is a program to assist; if you want a more gradual change your program can be adjusted. The focus is on What Nourishes You.
